This year has been more than a little different, but the good news is companies are beginning their recruitment drive.
We've found a superb list of companies looking to add to their talent pool, recruiting for casual and part-time positions. These roles are great if you're looking to continue working even after the Christmas season.

1. Merivale
Merivale is a big player in the hospitality industry with over 80 venues across Sydney. They have an array of junior and senior roles from restaurant, bar to kitchen and venue management opportunities. Check out their roles.
2. Bunnings Warehouse
Bunnings is the leading retailer in home improvement and a major supplier to trades and the construction industry. They pride themselves on the lowest prices, widest range and providing the best service. See the range of team member roles, customer service and even horticulturalist roles available.
3. Dan Murphy's
Dan Murphy's is part of the Endeavour Group, which is Australia's largest retail drinks network and owns the nation's largest portfolio of licenced hospitality venues. They have listed numerous casual customer assistant roles that are available nationally.
4. Officeworks
Being a student, you would have definitely taken a trip to Officeworks! They are hiring plenty of casual team members. Refine the search by your location to see if your local store is hiring. There's also a page with tips and tricks to perfect your resume and nail the interview process.
5. Grill'd
Grill'd is a restaurant chain offering guilt-free and healthy burgers. For talent joining Grill'd, they believe in PLOT - passion, leadership, ownership and trust. They have a range of trainee roles through to assistant restaurant manager roles to suit everyone's level of experience. Search for roles near you.
6. Mecca
Mecca started in 1997 and has 100+ stores in Australia and New Zealand! They aim to bring the best in global beauty through their stores; Mecca Cosmetica, Mecca Maxima and MECCA. They're hiring a range of casual retail assistants, makeup artists through to full-time engineers and developers. Do a search on their careers page.
7. Supercheap Auto
Supercheap Auto is part of the Super Retail Group and specialises in automotive, but has also expanded into a range of tools for DIY at home, outdoors and travel. They offer their staff member discounts, an Employee Assistance Program, and team member share plans. Supercheap Auto is hiring their seasonal casuals early, so do a search for a local store near you.
8. Australia Post
Australia Post is one of Australia's largest retail networks with 4,300 post offices! They are also proud to be one of Australia's most diverse workforces with 147 nationalities. In the ramp up to Christmas, Australia Post is hiring a number of positions from mail officers, van drivers and customer service roles. Do a search on their careers page.
9. Petbarn & City Farmers
Petbarn & City Farmers (brand varies depending on your state) aim to create a fun and welcoming environment in their stores for pet parents by offering great advice, service and products. They have countless positions available nationally. Search for job opportunities near you.
10. JB Hi-Fi
What started to be a specialist store in Hi-Fi and recorded music has now exploded into a chain of stores that offer the largest range of video games, music and DVDs. JB Hi-Fi are recruiting for a range of casual roles. You can also subscribe to their job alerts if the roles available aren't suitable for you at the moment.
11. Hype DC
Hype DC was established 20 years ago and pride themselves on curating a collection of the best sneakers globally in their gallery inspired stores. Hype DC are looking for sales assistants.
12. McDonald's

13. BWS
BWS stands for Beer, Wine and Spirits and similar to Dan Murphy's, they are under the Endeavour Group, who are doing a huge recruitment drive in the lead up to summer. Search for roles near you on the BWS careers page.
14. Coles
The Coles Group runs Coles supermarkets, Coles Express, First Choice Liquor, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars. They are recruiting for a number of roles from team members, sales assistants, bakers and distribution roles. 15. Nextt
Nextt supports people with a broad range of disabilities and focuses on providing individualised person centred support to help them meet their goals and become more independent. 16. The Good Guys
The Good Guys are driven by their purpose to help customers live better for less. With more than 100 stores, they are one of Australia's largest and fastest growing electrical and appliance retailers. They are looking for Sales Team Members.
17. Flower Power
Flower Power started in 1971 by Nick Sammut, who wanted to revolutionise the experience and enthusiasm of customers visiting the nursery. The company is run by the Sammut family and they are looking for sales assistants, nursery hand and online packers to join their teams. Search for the roles near you.
18. Oportos, Red Rooster & Chicken Treat
Cravable brands owns these iconic food brands and operates 580 restaurants nationally with 12,500 employees. They are recruiting for all 3 brands with casual roles for team members through to full-time shift managers and assistant managers. Check out what roles are near you.

21. TFE Hotels
TFE hotels is an international hotel group that includes Adina Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Travelodge Hotels, Rendezvous Hotels and more! There are a range of casual roles from food & beverage attendants, receptionists and various chef roles available. Have a peek under 'Australia' on their careers page.
22. Domino's
Domino's is the largest pizza chain in Australia and are looking to fill roles from drivers, e-bike riders, pizza makers and school-based trainees. Check out roles near you.
23. Big W
Big W is part of the Woolworths group and has special programs and training available for graduates and the indigenous community. 24. EVENT Cinemas
EVENT Cinemas is pretty unique for a student as most of the shifts include late afternoon and nights and the school holidays. 25. 7-Eleven
Famous for their Slurpee, 7-Eleven have 8,800 employees and over 700 stores - with 450 stores that are small family-owned businesses. They have flexible shifts available across team member roles, so search for one near you.
26. Mad Mex
Mad Mex have 50 stores in Australia and call their dedicated team 'Luchadors' (fighters in Spanish). They have a range of roles available now. Some locations are expressions of interest only - but you can still apply to the Mad Mex near you. Check out the roles by state.
27. KFC

28. Chemist Warehouse
Chemist Warehouse has over 400 stores across Australia and more than 12,000+ employees in their company! There is a huge range of job opportunities available including student pharmacist roles and store assistant positions.
29. Nando's
Nando's started in Johannesburg in 1987 and now famous for their flame-grilled peri peri chicken, they have 155 restaurants in Australia. Nando's currently have team member roles available which are ideal for casuals. You can use the search functionality to search for other roles available.
30. The Reject Shop
The Reject Shop opened 40 years ago with a focus to help all Australians to save money everyday. Now they have over 350 stores nationally and 5,300 employees on their team! Currently they are recruiting for casual team member roles.
